Visiting the ancient wine cellars of Varramista is a suggestive and exciting experience. Here you can breathe in the atmosphere of centuries of history and wine culture. The huge barrels and barriques cradle an extraordinary collection of wines.
The wines from Varramista's prestigious cellar are appreciated throughout the world: the maximum expression of the territory, climate and soil. Dedication to the vines, from the shoot to the heavy bunches, reflected in the painstaking harvest with careful selection of the single grape.
The refining process is performed separately for each type of wine. At the moment of bottling the enologist chooses only the wine from best barriques.
Two particular varieties of grape have excelled in the vineyards over time, Sangiovese and Syrah, chosen as the main, top vine species in the '90s, when Giovanni Alberto Agnelli, embarked on the reconversion of the vineyards and cultivation system accompanied by the enologist Federico Staderini who still controls the quality of the wines today.
Varramista organizes guided tours of the Villa, of the Italian garden, of the cellars and of the vineyards. It also organizes tastings for its guests: wine from the estate, extra virgin olive oil and spirits are offered accompanied by typical Tuscan products.
The wines, as well as the oil and the spirits, can be tasted and bought directly on the estate.
